Salmon Kings Add Forward Scott Freeman

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed forward Scott Freeman for the 2010-11 season.

The Whitby, ON native will begin his professional career with the Salmon Kings after completing a four year career (2007-08 thru 2010-11) with the NCAA's Clarkson University Golden Knights. In 133 career games at school, he recorded 88 points (28g-60a) to go along with 107 minutes in penalties. Freeman also served as the team's captain during the 2009-10 campaign, and was named the 2008-09 recipient of the club's Unsung Hero Award.

Freeman, 23, spent three years (2004-05 to 2006-07) in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League (OPJHL) with the Bowmanville Eagles prior to attending Clarkson University. The forward notched 61 goals and 130 assists for 191 points across 130 games during his time in Bowmanville. These numbers included 96 total penalty minutes. Freeman's best campaign came in his final year with the Eagles (2006-07) where he led the OPJHL in points and assists with a season of 97 points (33g-64a) in just 43 games played.
