IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals and the Gwinnett Gladiators play the first of two-straight games at First Arena at 7:35 p.m. The Jackals and the Gladiators enter the contest tied for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings at 63 points.
ANDERSON JUMPS INTO FIRST
R.J. Anderson, currently on a three-game assist streak, is now tied for first among ECHL defensemen with 35 points (7g-28a) and has played in five fewer games than his primary competition, Jason Lepine of Toledo. Last season, Anderson was second only to current Jackal and former Gladiator Drew Paris among rookie defensemen with 43 points (12g-31a).
THREE GOALS OR LESS
When allowing three goals or less this season, Elmira is 24-4-2-0. The Jackals are 16-2-0-0 when allowing fewer than three goals in a game. When allowing more than three goals in a game this season, however, the Jackals are 4-20-4-1 in the 2010-2011 campaign.
