Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Countdown to Face-off Kalamazoo Wings @ Quad City Mallards The MARK of the Quad Cities Moline, IL Friday, February 28, 2003 7:00 PM (CST)
Game Preview After spending the past four games at Wings Stadium the K-Wings will spend a game on the road as they travel to Moline, Illinois to play the Quad City Mallards. Kalamazoo will be looking to end a major trend in this season. In five games this season, the team that has played on home ice has won the game. Besides ending that trend, the K-Wings will be looking for the first win in Quad City since February 2, 2002, a span of three games.
With their victory Wednesday against Muskegon the K-Wings have shrunken the gap between them and the teams they are chases for the UHL playoffs. Kalamazoo enters play on Friday just 6 points behind Flint and 5 points behind Rockford.
For the Mallards, Friday is also a big game. Quad City is a three-way battle for the top spot in the Western Conference. Quad City is currently in third place in the Western Conference, however, they are just one point behind both Muskegon and Missouri for first place. With Muskegon playing Missouri on Friday, the Mallards will be looking to leap frog one of the two teams ahead of them.
