(Reading, PA) – The Reading Royals were very quiet during this season's trade deadline. The Royals made no trades as they prepare for their first Kelly Cup playoff berth over the final four weeks of the season. Contrary to last year when the Royals traded Simon Tremblay, who would be reaquired by Reading, to the Greenville Grrrowl, forward Brendan Brooks to Macon, and defenseman Sean Austin to Trenton. The Royals did acquire another player at the deadline. Agris Saviels, a defenseman under contract with the Colorado Avalanche, was reassigned by the Avalanche via the Hershey Bears. Saviels appeared in 42 games with the Bears this season and posted three assists for three points and 33 minutes in penalties. The young defenseman is in Reading practicing with the team and will be available for the Royals game against Roanoke tomorrow night.

The Reading Royals versus the Trenton Titans on Sunday, March 2 at 5:05 p.m. has been altered. The Royals and Titans will square off on March 2 at 2:05 p.m. due to broadcast commitments with Comcast. The game will be televised live on Comcast. The Royals will be wearing special Penske Racing jerseys that will be auctioned off live at the conclusion of the game.

The Royals-Titans game previously set for February 16 at 7:05 p.m. has been rescheduled for Wednesday March 5 at 7:05 p.m. The game was postponed due weather conditions. Any ticket purchased for the February 16 date will be honored on March 5. Rieck's Printing will be giving away the 3rd series of Royals hockey trading cards to the first 2,000 fans in attendance on the March 5 rescheduled date. The final Rieck's Printing hockey trading card night is scheduled for the Royals final regular season home game on March 22 against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies.
