Greensboro Generals News Release

GREENSBORO GENERALS

The Generals last game was a 1-0 shootout defeat at Augusta on Sunday afternoon. Both goaltenders were spectacular, as Greensboro's Sebastien Centomo denied all 48 shots he faced to earn a shutout. Despite the shutout, Centomo didn't get credit for the victory, as the Lynx outscored the Generals 2-0 in the extra session.

AUGUSTA LYNX

The Lynx shut out the Generals 1-0 in a shootout last Sunday. Augusta was led by veteran goaltender Tom Draper, who stopped all 31 shots in regulation and overtime. Draper also blocked all four shots he faced in the shootout, while Mike Legg and Jim Shepherd scored in the shootout to earn the victory.

Notes & Numbers

Sunday's 1-0 shootout defeat was the first time since exactly ten years ago from today that a Greensboro team was involved in a 1-0 shootout.

The Generals have only had two home games over the last four weeks before tonight.

Both captain Jay Murphy and alternate captain Kurt Drummond returned to the lineup last weekend after each missing several games to injury.

Greensboro is only 2 for their last 30 on the power play (6.7%).

Augusta has the worst road record in the ECHL at 6-22-2.

The Lynx have acquired four new players through trades since last Sunday's game. Ryan Lauzon has nine points (6g, 3a) in the last five games, including a hat trick. Augusta the only team in the league without a win when trailing after two periods. They are 0-25-2 in that situation.
