Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo Wings vs Toledo Walleye

Tonight will begin a home-and-home series between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Toledo Walleye. Including this evening, the division rivals will face-off 13 times this season. All-time, the K-Wings are 33-15-4-3 versus the Walleye.

Kalamazoo enters tonight in search of their first win of the young season. The K-Wings also will continue a stretch of home games. Beginning last Saturday, Kalamazoo will play seven out of their next eight games at Wings Stadium.

Unbeaten in regulation on the road the Walleye travel to Wings Stadium looking to improve upon their 1-0-1-0 road record. Including tonight, Toledo will have to get use to life on the road, as six out of their next seven games are away from the Huntington Center.

The 700 Club

With his next game, Sam Ftorek will join an exclusive list of players that have played in 700 ECHL games. Ftorek will join Cam Brown (789 games; 1991-2006) and Louis Dumont (771 games; 1994-2006) as the only players to reach the 700 club in games played.

Nearing a Milestone

Goaltender Joel Martin is closing in on a personal milestone. The next appearance between the pipes for Martin will mark his 400th career game.

Home Sweet Home

Last Saturday's crowd of 5,576 was the largest home opening crowd in the K-Wings 40-year history. Kalamazoo will have plenty of opportunity to continue to bring in huge crowds as six out of their next seven games will occur at Wings Stadium.

Ending a Drought Chris Lawrence's third period goal ended a goal scoring drought for the K-Wings. The goal snapped a 104:44 drought this season for Kalamazoo.
