Road Warriors Blanked by Jackals
November 1, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Elmira, NY: The Road Warriors could not solve Elmira Jackals goaltender, Scott Greenham, in a 3-0 loss on Friday night.
The Road Warriors came out strong in the early stages of the game and were once outshooting Elmira by a 7-2 margin. The Jackals then scored on a deflection goal from Artem Demkov to give the Jackals momentum and a 1-0 lead. Kyle Bushee assisted on the forward's second goal of the year. Elmira finished the period ahead in shots on goal with 15 to Greenville's eight.
The Jackals continued their offensive presence to begin the second but rookie goaltender Jeff Malcolm made several stops. The Road Warriors found offensive abilities once again toward the end of the frame but couldn't solve Greenham.
4:30 into the third period, former Road Warrior Danny Hobbs made a pass to Phillip-Michael Devos for the second goal of the game to put Elmira up by a 2-0 lead. Greenville's hopes were smashed by another goal six minutes later by Rob Bellamy. The 3-0 Jackals lead would hold through a double-minor Jackals penalty for the Greenham shutout.
The Road Warriors head to Wheeling tomorrow night for a 7:05 face-off against the Nailers. Fans can listen to the game by clicking the listen live link on the Road Warriors homepage or by watching on America One.
