Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA - The Kane County Cougars welcomed their 8 millionth fan, Suanne Camfield, through the gates of Elfstrom Stadium this evening for Tuesday's 6:30 p.m. game. Camfield attended the historic game along with husband Eric and children Clay and Sadie. The Camfield family are residents of west suburban Lombard and were quite surprised after being notified shortly after the game's start.

"We walked in and were asked to hold on, before being told that we were the 8 millionth fan," Eric said. "We thought that was pretty cool."

Greeted at the gate by Kane County general manager Jeff Sedivy along with Ozzie T. Cougar, the Camfield's were presented with a variety of Cougars gifts, including a 2008 team autographed bat, a night in the Cougars' VIP suite during the 2009 season along with Cougars apparel.

"We were thrilled to see that our 8 millionth fan was part of a family from the western suburbs and have been Cougars fans since moving here from Ohio," said Cougars General Manager Jeff Sedivy. "We'd like to thank the Camfield family, along with all of our fans for their support over the past 18 seasons, and to our front office staff for providing the best and the most affordable family entertainment in the Chicago area."

Clay, a five-year old, particularly enjoys the possibility of catching a baseball while six-year old Sadie loves just about everything at a Cougars game.

"We love the atmosphere, especially the between-innings activities for the kids," said Eric. "This is so fan and family-friendly."

Now in their 18th season, the Cougars have successfully placed affordable and family-friendly baseball on the map in the Chicago area as the only major-league affiliated minor league team and the first entry of its kind onto the Chicago market. As a greater strain is placed on fans who are juggling the rising cost of goods and services, the Cougars have witnessed capacity crowds and a sizable fan base make Elfstrom Stadium their destination. So far in 2008, the Cougars have welcomed crowds of 10,000 or more people on seven occasions, including last Saturday's game which was attended by 13,619 Cougars faithful.

A home-heavy month of August awaits the Cougars and fans can get in on the fun. The Cougars' remaining home schedule includes 10 games with post-game fireworks shows, appearances by Rubberboy, the Marching Cobras, skydivers, Jake the Diamond Dog and the Zooperstars. For tickets, fans can call the Cougars box office at (630) 232-8811 or visit www.kccougars.com.
