
Cougars Race to 5-0 Lead at Home, Cruise to Win

PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars made their long-awaited return home and marked it by scoring a season-high seven goals, in their 7-2 thumping of the Kelowna Rockets.
Friday was the Cougars first home game since December 2nd, and they wasted little time giving their fans something to cheer about. The Cougars came out of the blocks running, scoring four goals on 17 shots in the first period, chasing Rockets' starter Roman Basran.
The line of Ethan Browne, Vladislav Mikhalchuk and Josh Maser combined for eight points and the three swept the three stars. Browne (1-2-3) and Mikhalchuk (0-3-3) each had three-points and so too did defenceman Cole Moberg (2-1-3). Joel Lakusta also chipped in with a pair of assists. The goals came from Maser (2), Moberg (2), Browne, Jack Sander and Matéj Toman. In all 12 Cougars recorded at least a single point.
The Cougars picked up their fourth win in their last seven games and have now won five of seven games against the Rockets this season. The Cougars look for the weekend sweep tomorrow night.
