
Cougars, Kernels Suspended by Rain

Geneva, IL - The Kane County Cougars and Cedar Rapids Kernels were suspended by rain Friday night at Elfstrom Stadium in the eighth inning of a 3-3 tie. The game contiue, from its current location, Saturday afternoon at 4 CT. Saturday night's originally scheduled game at 6 CT will proceed as planned.
Jose Pineda, Chad Boyd and Matt Sulentic each posted one RBI in the early frames against Brok Butcher for a 3-1 Cougars lead after two innings. Kane County starter T.J. Franco allowed two runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings but will take no-decision because the Kernels grabbed a run in the top of the seventh against Joe Newby to make it 3-3.
