GENEVA, IL - Thursday night's game between the Kane County Cougars and Peoria Chiefs at Elfstrom Stadium was suspended by rain in the top of the 4th inning with the Cougars leading, 6-1. The game will continue Friday afternoon beginning at 4 CT and be followed by Friday's originally-scheduled game, now a seven-inning affair.

The Cougars scored three runs in each of the first two innings. Todd Johnson and Jake Smith each had an RBI single in the first, and a third run came home on an error. In the second Larry Cobb hit a long three-run homer to make it 6-0, and Peoria countered with a run in the third against Cougars starter Scott Deal.
