
David Golliner joins Kernels from Pensacola

July 10, 2008 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce today that catcher David Golliner has been signed by the Angels as a non-drafted free agent from the Pensacola Pelicans of the American Association (IND).
Golliner had only played in two games at Pensacola. He played his college baseball at Florida Southern and batted .351 with 12 HR and 51 RBI in 48 games for the Moccasin's. He was a teammate at Pensacola with former Kernel Matt Pali.
Golliner joins the Kernels in Lansing and will be in uniform and available for tonight's 6:05 pm game with the Lugnuts. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster stands at the MWL maximum of 25 active players with six players currently on the disabled list.
