Augusta Lynx News Release

The Gwinnett Gladiators had three players score a pair of goals to help the club to a 7-1 home win over the Augusta Lynx on Tuesday night.

Augusta grabbed a 1-0 lead just 59 seconds into the opening frame when Nicolas Corbeil scored on a rebound off the pads of Sean Fields. Pierre Parenteau notched an assist in his first shift in a Lynx uniform.

From there, the Gladiators took over the period with three straight power play goals starting at 13:24 on a Steve Slaton goal. Pascal Pelletier and Brad Schell followed with power play markers just 18 seconds apart with under three minutes to go in the period to give the Gladiators a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.

Gwinnett claimed the only goal of the second period at 15:11 with Pelletier's second goal of the evening from Guillaume Desbiens and Matt York for a 4-1 advantage through two periods of play.

Another three-goal period would propel the Gladiators to the 7-1 final, including a pair of goals from Jeff Campbell and Schell's second of the night.

Gwinnett finished the game 3-for-6 on the power play while the Lynx went 0-for-3.

The Lynx are back in action Wednesday night against the Pensacola Ice Pilots back in Augusta with a 7:05 pm faceoff. Tickets are on sale now for all remaining home games through the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE, all TicketMaster locations, and on line at www.TicketMaster.com.
