
Ice Pilots' Courchaine Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Pensacola rookie center Adam Courchaine is the In Glas
Co ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 28-Dec. 4.
The 21-year-old scored 11 points (5g-6a), averaging over two points per
game, and had four multiple-points games while helping the Ice Pilots go
3-1-1.
The 5-foot-10 and 175-pound Courchaine began the week scoring two goals
and three points in a shootout loss at Columbia on Nov. 29 and had two
assists in a 4-3 win at Augusta on Nov. 30. Playing the first of three
games in as many days against Bakersfield, Courchaine scored a career-high
four points (2g-2a) in a 5-2 win on Dec. 2 and added a goal and an assist
on Dec. 3 in the Ice Pilots 2-1 win.
Selected in the seventh round (217th overall) by the Minnesota Wild in the
2003 NHL Entry Draft, Courchaine has played in nine of Pensacola's 19 games
and he is tied for first on the team with two power-play goals and is tied
for second with seven goals and is tied for third with 13 points. He is
under contract to Houston of the American Hockey League and played six
games with the Aeros before joining the Ice Pilots.
Prior to turning professional, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native played four
seasons in the Western Hockey League from 2001-05 with Medicine Hat and
Vancouver, scoring 205 points (103g-102a) in 214 regular season games and
13 points (6g-7a) in 15 playoff games. He led Vancouver in scoring in
2002-03 with 85 points (43g-42a) in 71 games and in 2003-04 with 82 points
(39g-43a) in 70 games.
On behalf of Adam Courchaine, a case of pucks will be donated to a
Pensacola area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the
exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL.
In Glas Co has donated over 12,500 pucks to youth hockey
organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in
2000-01. In Glas Co also donated all of the limited-edition pucks
that were used during the opening weekend and auctioned off for hurricane
relief.
