
Connor Shields Named Rookie Of Month For November

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today rookie forward Connor Shields has been chosen as the Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month for November.
The 25 year old tied for the ECHL lead in November with nine goals while his 17 points in 13 games tied him with teammate Troy Schwab for the league rookie point lead. He had five power-play goals, eight power-play points and a plus-minus rating of +4 during the month. Shields had a pair of five-game point streaks and six multiple-point games including a pair of two-goal games. He leads the Chiefs with 10 goals and five power-play goals and is tied for second with 18 points in 19 games. He is tied for second among league rookies with five power-play goals and tied for fourth with 10 goals while his 18 points tie him for eighth. The Edmonton, Alberta native played four seasons at Dartmouth College where he had 49 points (19g-30a) in 105 games from 2005-09.

The Chiefs will be hosting their annual Cool 101.7 Toy Toss to benefit the United States Marines' Toys for Tots drive.
