Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - The ECHL announced today that Condors G Timo Pielmeier has been named the ECHL Goaltender of the Month for November. The Anaheim Ducks prospect was also a runner-up for the Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month.

Pielmeier, 20, went 6-1-0 during the month, boasting a 2.07 goals against average (GAA) and a.925 save percentage in eight appearances. He started four of the six games on the Condors current winning streak, and has earned the win in each of his last five starts. Pielmeier won both games over the weekend against Las Vegas to help the Condors wrap up a perfect six-game homestand, coming just 11.3 seconds shy of recording his first professional shutout on Nov. 27.

The German-born Pielmeier currently ranks 9th in the ECHL with a 2.78 GAA and is third in the league with eight wins, one shy of the ECHL lead. Pielmeier has more appearances than any other rookie goalie, and is 6th in the league with 713 minutes played. He is also the overwhelming leader on the www.bakersfieldcondors.com fan poll for Kern Trophies Condor of the Month.

Additionally, it was announced yesterday that Condors RW Dan Sexton (who has since been reassigned by Anaheim to Manitoba of the American Hockey League) was named runner-up for the Reebok Hockey ECHL Player of the Month. Sexton had 9g-6a-15pts in 10 games, which included three consecutive three-point games and a Player of the Week award the week of Nov. 16 - 22. Combined with Pielmeier's award and runner-up nomination, a Condor served as a finalist in all three monthly honors from the league.

The goaltender of the month honor is the first of its kind in Condors history. However, Yutaka Fukufuji claimed the ECHL Rookie of the Month award as a goalie during the 2004-05 season, and the Condors have won 25 Goaltender of the Week awards, including 21 in West Coast Hockey League play, where no monthly honors existed.
