Bakersfield's Pielmeier Named ECHL Goaltender Of The Month For November

PRINCETON, N.J. - Timo Pielmeier of the Bakersfield Condors has been named the ECHL Goaltender of the Month for November.

The 20 year old was 6-1-0 with a goals-against average of 2.07 and a.925 save percentage to help the Condors go 10-2-0 and take control of the Pacific Division with 28 points.

Pielmeier allowed two goals or less in six of his seven starts during the month and was 4-0-0 with a shootout win and a goals-against average of 1.96 in his last four starts. In the only start where he allowed more than two goals he stopped all three shooters in the shootout for a 4-3 win.

Selected in the third round (83rd overall) by San Jose in the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft and under NHL contract to Anaheim, the Deggendorf, Germany native is 8-4-0 and leads all rookies with 13 games. He is tied for the league lead with a shootout percentage of 1.000 (3-for-3) while his eight wins rank third and his goals-against average of 2.78 ties him for ninth.

He played the last two seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and was 53-31-6 with three shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.84 and a save percentage of.911 in 107 games for Shawinigan and St. John's. He was named the QMJHL Rookie of the Year in 2007-08 and in 2008-09 was 30-9-2 with two shutouts and a goals-against average of 2.67 while helping Shawinigan reach the QMJHL Finals.
