The announcement was made by Bears president/general manager Doug Yingst.
Carrick, 20, has dressed in all but one game for the Bears during the current season. He leads all Bears defensemen and ranks tied for third among all of his teammates in scoring with 23 points (four goals, 19 assists) in 38 contests, and is coming off of a two-game weekend in which he contributed three power-play assists.

Carrick has appeared in a total of 51 games in Hershey, and has totaled 27 points (four goals, 23 assists) and 87 penalty minutes. He scored his first NHL goal in his second career NHL game, against the Calgary Flames at Verizon Center on October 3, 2013.
Prior to turning pro, Carrick played 68 games with the OHL's Plymouth Whalers and led all Plymouth defensemen in goals (12). He finished second among his team's blue line corps with 32 assists and 44 points, all while serving as alternate captain.
Carrick also spent two years with the United States National Team Development Program, recording 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) in 57 career games. He was originally selected by Washington in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
