Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Condors raised $23,250 for the Petroleum Shrine Club as they auctioned off commemorative Team USA jerseys this past Friday night after their 5-4 win over the Idaho Steelheads in a sudden death shootout.
The post-game auction began with two former Condors #28 Jamie Cooke whose jersey brought in $1,100 and # 17 Paul Rosebush with $1,300. That pushed Rosebush's 20-auction historic total to almost $22,000.
The big breadwinner of the night came from goaltender Ryan Munce, whose jersey went for $3,800. Munce broke the team's individual jersey record, which was set previously by Rosebush during last year's Team USA jersey auction at $3,700.
This jersey auction was the 3rd highest total in team history behind the 1980 Team USA Miracle on Ice Jerseys in March of 2005 at $25,125, and the Veteran's Day Jerseys in November of 2002 at $23,300.
In eight years the Condors have raised over $300,000 in jersey auctions alone. In all, the Condors have donated more than 1.5 million in goods, services and money to non-profit organizations since 1998. All proceeds from the Team USA jersey auction will benefit the Petroleum Shrine Club. For almost 50 years the Shrine Club has raised money through charitable events to purchase materials for Los Angeles Children's Hospital. For more information on how you can make a difference, call Vern David at 661-333-4254.
The Bakersfield Condors will face off against the Stockton Thunder tonight at 7pm in Stockton.
