
Toledo Makes More Moves

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have acquired forward Matt Zultek from the Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL in exchange for forward Brad Bonello. In a separate move, defenseman Gerry Burke has been returned to Toledo from the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.
Zultek, a former first round selection of the Los Angeles Kings in 1997, is currently in his sixth professional season and has appeared in 22 games with the Grrrowl, amassing 22 points (6g, 5a) and 56 penalty minutes. While racking up impressive penalty minute numbers, including 3 seasons with over 200 in the ECHL, Matt has also been an offensive force as twice he collected over 50 points. During the 2003-04 season, Zultek scored 35 goals, added 30 assists, while recording 217 penalty minutes. Matt was a member of the 2005 ECHL Kelly Cup Championship team in Trenton.
"Matt brings tremendous size and skill to our front line," said Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Nick Vitucci. "He has shown over the course of his career that he can be a force."
Burke, Toledo's 2006 ECHL All-Star, returns to the Storm after playing 4 games with the Rivermen, collecting no points and 2 penalty minutes. With the Storm this season, Burke has 6 goals and 15 assists. Gerry is expected to be in a Storm uniform tonight against the Wheeling Nailers.
