Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Cody Rudkowsky has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. This marks the second trip of the season to Bridgeport for Rudkowsky, a twenty-seven year old seventh year pro from Willingdon, Alberta. Rudkowsky, who was the Player and Goaltender of the Year in the Western Hockey League in 1999, was previously loaned to Bridgeport on January 4 and went 4-2-1-1 with a 2.21 goals against and a .932 save percentage in eight games. Since being returned to the Royals on February 7, Rudkowsky has gone 4-1-2 with Reading, which includes a currently in tact four game win streak. In his last three games with Royals, Rudkowsky, who last week was selected as the ECHL's Runner-Up Goaltender of the Week, has only allowed two goals, stopping 94 of the last 96 shots he has faced. Over the course of the season, Rudkowsky is 16-3-3 with a 2.33 goals against average and a .933 save percentage in 22 games with the Royals.

The Royals take on the Dayton Bombers this Friday night at 7:00 pm at the Sovereign Center in a game sponsored by Commonwealth Orthopaedic Associates. The first 2000 fans through the doors on Friday night receive a Cody Rudkowksy bobblehead courtesy of Clean Image. Royals' game day broadcasts can be heard on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and www.royalshockey.com with pre-game beginning 30 minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available through the Royals' website on a pay per view basis provided by B2 Networks.
