High Scoring Game Ends In a Loss for Ice Pilots

Pensacola, FL - Wearing festive purple, gold and green Mardi Gras jerseys the Ice Pilots came close to a win yet again in front of an entertained crowd at the Hangar. Beads, moon pies and fists were flying as the Ice Pilots took on the Augusta Lynx for the sixth time this season.

Shaun Landolt started scoring for the Ice Pilots early in the second period with an assist by Eric Braff. Following up within 10 seconds, Brendan Cook scored his 16th goal of the season with Landolt picking up the assist.

The Augusta Lynx answered the Ice Pilots two goals starting with Dan Sullivan with an unassisted power play goal. Ryan Lang from the Lynx followed up his goal to tie the game up.

The Ice Pilots took their second lead of the game with Adam Courchaine firing in his 16th goal of the season with tonights number! one star of the game, Shaun Landolt with an assist. Augusta followed up quickly with four minutes remaining in the period with a short handed goal by Sam Ftorek.

With the score tied at the beginning of the third period, Brian Passmore (AUG), along with Jeff Mason and Anthony Battaglia brought the Lynx back on top of the game. With the Ice Pilots on the power play, Shaun Landolt scored his second goal of the game; 5th of the season; to tie the game once again.

With only three minutes left in the third period, Jeff Mason (AUG) took a pass from Brian Passmore; lit the lamp, and the Lynx held on through the final minutes of the game.

The final score Augusta 5 - Pensacola 4, David Cann (PEN) was the losing goalie and Michael Wall (AUG) came out with the win.

The next Ice Pilots home game is Thursday, February 23. The Augusta Lynx are back once again with the puck dropping at 7:05 PM.
