Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Geoff Platt.

Platt, 21, has registered six assists and 16 penalty minutes in 16 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, including 5 assists and 16 penalty minutes in 15 games as a rookie during the 2005-06 season. After appearing in one game with Columbus this season, he was assigned to Syracuse where he has notched a team-leading 6 goals, 4 assists and 10 penalty minutes in eight games.

A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Platt has collected 36 goals, 39 assists and 68 penalty minutes in 76 career AHL games. He tallied 106 goals, 86 assists and 268 penalty minutes in 248 career Ontario Hockey League games with North Bay, Saginaw and Erie during his junior career before signing as a free agent with Columbus on November 25, 2005.
