ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades (29-21-10) fell to the Columbus Cottonmouths (31-22-4) 4-2 in front of sold out crowd of 7,186 at TECO Arena Saturday night.

The game was tied at one entering the third period when the Columbus Cottonmouths jumped out to a 3-1 on a pair of goals by forward Jean Francois Plourde. Florida would answer right back to pull within a goal when Brian McCullough gathered the puck in the corner and threw the puck back at the net that hit a Columbus defenseman and landed in the net. Columbus sealed the victory when Marc-Andre Thinel took a pass on an odd man rush and deposited his shot behind Everblades netminder Jeff Maund with just over five minutes remaining to give the Cottonmouths a two goal lead at 4-2.

Columbus got on the scoreboard at the 3:06 mark of the first period. Forward Dan Tudin circled out of the corner and sent a hard wrist shot past Maund's glove side for a 1-0 lead.

Florida tied the game in the second period when John McNabb lifted a rebound shot past netminder Jason Tapp on the power play and the score would remain 1-1 through two periods.

Florida goaltender Jeff Maund stopped 41 of 45 shots while Columbus goaltender Jason Tapp stopped 45 of 47 shots. Florida finished 1 for 6 on the power play while Columbus went 0 for 5. The Everblades will be back at TECO Arena on Tuesday, March 2nd when they will take on the Augusta Lynx. Game time is 7:30.
