COLUMBIA, SC - Eric Naud and Wes Goldie both had two points as the Florence Pride defeated the Columbia Inferno 2-1 Saturday afternoon at the Carolina Coliseum to end their five-game winless streak.

Naud put the Pride on the board with the only goal of the first period at 11:51. Shaun Sutter took a shot from the left point that was stopped by Columbia goaltender Rob McVicar. But, the rebound kicked out to Naud on the near post, and he was able to bang it home for his sixth goal of the season.

The Inferno tied the game 7:06 into the second period. After making two great saves on the sequence, Sebastien Laplante was unable to make save number three as Alex Burrows' shot from low in the right wing eluded the Pride goaltender and went across the line for his 26th goal of the year.

Florence went back on top at the 10:40 mark of the third period. Naud took a long slap shot from the left-wing side that was stopped by McVicar. But, Kyle Kidney crashed the net, and put the rebound home for his 14th goal of the season, setting a new career high.

The Pride are home for three games next week, hosting Columbus at 7:00 on Thursday, Greensboro at 7:30 on Friday and Charlotte at 2:30 on Sunday. Tickets are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
