Columbus Crew SC holds Vito Wormgoor's jersey after beating the New York Red Bulls

COLUMBUS ¬" Columbus Crew SC today announced that defender Vito Wormgoor underwent successful surgery on his right ankle on Wednesday and is expected to be sidelined for approximately 4-6 months. The procedure, to address the injury suffered in Crew SC's match against FC Cincinnati (July 11), was performed in Columbus by Doctor Scott Van Steyn.

A 12-year veteran, the Leersum, Netherlands native was signed by Crew SC on December 18, 2019, joining from SK Brann of Norway's First Division. In 2020, his first campaign with the Black & Gold, Wormgoor has made two regular-season appearances (all starts).
