Windsor, CO – The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that for every televised game, starting with Saturday's game against the New Mexico Scorpions, will be a "White Out" (fans are strongly encouraged to wear ALL WHITE SHIRTS).

White Outs originated in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and the tradition was passed on by Winnipeg fans to Arizona when the Phoenix Coyotes were moved there from Winnipeg. The very first White Out in Arizona took place on April 20, 1997 when fans turned the "Purple Palace" into the "White House" as the White Out hit the desert. The White Out has become very popular in the states since the Coyotes moved because it creates an amazing optical display that motivates fans and players in any hockey game (originally White Outs were introduced for play off games). With all the fans dressed in white, the White Out culminates with a loud and constant roar that makes fans literally feel the passion of a hockey game.*

"When the first White Out occurred in the desert, it was one of the most memorable sporting events in the Valley," said Collin Muller, a native of Arizona for 38 years. "It brought a sense of new destiny coupled with old tradition. It was the rowdiest crowd I have ever seen at a sporting event."*

"When fans wear white shirts to games it is intimidating to the visiting team because it makes the crowd look much larger," stated Vice President Eric Newendorp. "We (the Eagles organization) are encouraging fans to do this for our televised games because it looks great on camera!"

The Colorado Eagles will also be introducing two new jerseys in upcoming home games. Friday, December 12 the Eagles will face Wichita in "retro jerseys" and they will sport "red jerseys" against New Mexico, December 13. The jerseys will be available for sale at the merchandise stands at the Budweiser Events Center during the games.

The Colorado Eagles are currently first in the Northwest Division and are second overall in the Central Hockey league, behind the Laredo Bucks. The Eagles currently have three players in the league's top five for points. Eagles right winger Greg Pankewicz leads the league in points with 42, left winger Ryan Tobler is second in the league with 40 points, and center Riley Nelson is fifth in the league with 35 points. Eagles goalie Ryan Bach currently leads the league in; minutes in wins with 13; saves with 533; and in minutes in the net (1261:55).

The Colorado Eagles are 15-7-1 on the 2003-04 season. The Eagles take on the Wichita Thunder Friday, December 12; face-off is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center. The Eagles with then face off with the New Mexico Scorpions for the first televised game in Eagles history (broadcast on UPN 20) Saturday, December 13; the puck will drop at 2:37 p.m. at the Bud Barn.
