Blazers Fourth Annual Teddy Bear Toss Friday

December 9, 2003 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Oklahoma City Blazers News Release

Oklahoma City, Okla. – The Oklahoma City Blazers will participate in the fourth annual Teddy Bear Toss on Friday, December 12 against the Indianapolis Ice, the Blazers front office announced today.

Blazers fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears, or any other stuffed animals worthy of donation, to the game on December 12. After the Blazers score their first goal of the game, fans will be asked to throw their bears toward the ice. Fans that bring a stuffed animal to the game will be rewarded with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for any game remaining in the month of December.

The stuffed animals will be collected and donated after the game to the Children's Hospital from the Blazers, Children's Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary and Credit Unions for Kids. Last season, the Blazers collected over 1,000 bears for the Children's Hospital.

It is important that the bears be new or just very slightly experienced as the collected bears will be distributed to children in the hospital at the Children's Hospital of Oklahoma.

Oklahoma City will skate in three games this week. The Blazers begin their three-games-in-three-nights stretch on December 11 on the road at Fort Worth at 7:30 p.m. December 12, the Blazers are at home against the Indianapolis Ice. December 13, Oklahoma City welcomes the Bossier-Shreveport MudBugs. Both home games face off at 7:35 p.m. Great tickets are still available by contacting any Tickets.com outlet or by calling the Blazers office at 235-PUCK.

NOTE: The Blazers, KATT and The Sports Animal will team up to air the Heisman Trophy announcement Saturday night at the Ford Center on the videoboard above center ice. University of Oklahoma quarterback Jason White is a leading contender to win college football's most prestigious award.
