OKLAHOMA CITY, OK- The Wichita Thunder lost 3-1 to the Oklahoma City Blazers at the Ford Center on Friday night.
Tim Boron stopped 39 of 42 shots, but Blazers' forwards Bill Vandemeer and Ted Vandemeer scored all three goals to lead Oklahoma City to the win.
Andrew Davis gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead with a power play goal at 15:35 in the first period. Bill Vandemeer tied it with a power play goal off of his own rebound at 6:53 in the second. His brother Ted Vandemeer gave the Blazers a lead at 15:51 in the second on a redirection.
Bill Vandemeer scored again on a rebound at 18:32 in the third period to finish the scoring for the night. Doug Groenestege earned the win for the Blazers.
The loss is Wichita's fifth straight, and the Thunder is now 0-5 vs. Oklahoma City. The Thunder's 15 shots on goal were their fewest this season. Wichita played without Jason Duda who is considered day-to-day. Jonathan Bernier returned to the lineup on Friday after missing six games due to injury.
