Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 12)- It wasn't how Texas wanted to begin their longest road trip of the season, but due to a strong Mississippi powerplay and frustration, the Brahmas lost 7-2.

RiverKings newly signed forward Dallas Steward did the damage early lighting up Brett Jaeger for his first and second goals of the season. Texas' leading scorer from last year, Jordan Cameron was able to beat 'Kings goalie Kevin Beech at the 8:55 mark in the opening period for his fifth goal this season. Pete Rouleau in his return back from IR was awarded with the assist, as well as Tyler Skworchinski.

The Brahmas headed into the second down 3-1 ready to tighten the game but the Mississippi defense played strong keeping the period scoreless. Despite the promising second period, a lackluster final period doomed the Brahmas as Jaeger and the PK gave up two more powerplay goals. Brahmas coach Dan Wildfong pulled Jaeger with ten minutes remaining in the game in favor of David Cacciola who gave up a powerplay goal at the 17:04 mark.

Rookie forward Marc Belanger scored the Brahmas second goal of the night, his third against the RiverKings this season. Texas was outshot in the game 23-31.
