ALBUQUERQUE â The New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League announced today that the team's game this Saturday, Dec. 13 at Colorado will be televised in Albuquerque on the Comcast cable system at Channel 72. As a result, please note that the game, which was originally scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m., will now start at approximately 2:40 p.m., with the telecast beginning at 2:30 p.m.
"We are excited to provide this service to our loyal fans," said Scorpions Senior Vice President/General Manager Geoff Kent. "I would like to thank the Colorado Eagles and our friends at Comcast for helping to make this possible."
"We're happy to support the New Mexico Scorpions with this broadcast," said Comcast Marketlink General Manager John Hurley. "As a Scorpions corporate partner, we're thrilled to bring a live CHL game to all the hockey fans in Albuquerque."
The Scorpions also announced that they are teaming up with Charlie's Sporting Goods for a unique promotion. Beginning with this Friday's home game against Lubbock, Scorpions fans will have an opportunity to win two season tickets at each remaining Scorpions home game. Anyone purchasing tickets at the Tingley Coliseum box office on the night of the game will receive an entry form that they can fill out and return to the Scorpions Customer Service Table. During the game, one lucky entrant will be drawn at random and that entrant will receive two free season tickets for the remainder of the season.
"It's a chance for fans who come to a handful of games each year, to become full-fledged season ticket holders," added Kent. "Hopefully, they will enjoy the product enough to consider signing up with us as a season subscriber next year."
Kent added that the team will hold a special register-to-win promotion for current season ticket holders, the details of which will be announced in January.
The first 1,500 fans to Friday's game will receive a FREE Scorpions stress puck courtesy of Bright Ideas. Faceoff is 7:05 p.m., and the game can be heard on Sports Radio 610 The Sports Animal beginning at 6:50 p.m. Tickets for all Scorpions regular season home games and the 2004 Dodge CHL All-Star Game can be purchased at the Scorpions Team Store at the Far North Shopping Center, 6300 San Mateo NE, Suite F-1, or at any TicketMaster outlet, including through charge-by-phone at 505-883-7800 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
