Claws Fall 7-3 to Greenville on Thursday Night

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Shane Drohan threw five scoreless innings and Greenville topped the BlueClaws 7-3 on Thursday night in ShoreTown.

The Drive opened the scoring in the scoring in the first inning on an RBI single from Matthew Lugo. Joe Davis homered, his sixth of the season, in the second inning to give Greenville a 2-0 lead.

They tacked on four more in the third inning. Alex Binelas' RBI single made it 3-0 before Gilberto Jimenez singled home two more. Jimenez would later score on a wild pitch.

Meanwhile, the BlueClaws could not solve Drive starter Shane Drohan. The left-hander threw five scoreless innings, allowing two hits while fanning six.

Jersey Shore starter Cristian Hernandez (1-2) was charged with six runs, four earned, in 4.2 innings of work. Carlo Reyes followed with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief for the BlueClaws.

The BlueClaws got their lone runs in the ninth on a three-run home run from Rixon Wingrove. Wingrove joined the BlueClaws on Tuesday and is now 6-12 with two home runs in his first three games.

Wingrove and Ethan Wilson each had two hits for Jersey Shore.

The teams continue their series on Friday night at 6:35 pm. RHP Mick Abel starts for the BlueClaws.
