Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive won the third game in the series with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws with huge help from Gilberto Jimenez who went three for four with two RBIs and two runs scored. This away game ended with a final score of Greenville 7 Jersey Shore 3.
Matthew Lugo started things off for Greenville at the top of the first inning with a single sending Tyler McDonough home.
Joe Davis added to Greenville's lead in the second inning with a homerun to center field.
The Drive scored four more runs in the third inning to secure the win. Gilberto Jimenez was the big contributor with his single scoring both Lugo and Alex Binelas.
Greenville put their final run on the board in the eighth when Stephen Scott scored Jimenez with a sacrifice fly.
Runs were scarce for Jersey Shore until the ninth when Rixon Wingrove hit a three-run homer to right field, also scoring Ethan Wilson and Casey Martin. This effort fell short as the Drive defeated the BlueClaws for the second time with a final score of 7-3.
Shane Drohan of the Drive pitched five scoreless innings to pick up his third win for the Drive. Drohan struck out six while only giving up two hits and two walks.
The series continues tomorrow in Jersey Shore at 6:35.
