Brooklyn Cyclones News Release
Bowling Green, Kentucky - The Cyclones fell to the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Thursday evening by the score of 5-1. Rowdey Jordan went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two walks to lead the offensive effort.
Carson Seymour had his Cyclones debut on Thursday, and quickly found himself in trouble. After retiring the first two batters he faced, the righthander issues a pair of free passes before Matt Dyer opened the scoring with a had hit ball that was ruled an error on third baseman Nic Gaddis, allowing the game's first run to score.
The Cyclones would pull even in the top of the third thanks to their own two-out rally. Rowdey Jordan stroked a two out double into right field and advanced to third on a wild pitch before Shervyen Newton lined a single into centerfield to knot the game at 1-1.
Bowling Green would score a single run in the fourth and another in the fifth - both with two outs - to take a 3-1 lead and chase Seymour from the game. He ended his night tossing 5.0 innings and scattering four runs and a pair of walks while allowing three runs, two earned, and striking out two.
Sammy Tavarez shined in his 2.0 innings of perfect relief, striking out four, but in the top of the eighth the Hot Rods tacked on a pair of runs courtesy of a two-run blast from Diego Infante off of Reyson Santos to extend their lead to 5-1.
That's how the game would end as Brooklyn went quietly in the ninth.
