June 21, 2019 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
LAKEWOOD, NJ - West Virginia got the game's only run on a single by Bobby Honeyman in the 10th inning as the Power topped the BlueClaws 1-0 on Friday night at FirstEnergy Park.
The BlueClaws (1-1, 30-42) had their win streak snapped at six while the Power (1-1, 38-34) have won six of eight meetings with the BlueClaws so far this year.
Honeyman's hit came off Mark Potter (0-3) and allowed Joseph Rosa to score the game's lone run. Rosa began the inning on second base as per the Minor League Baseball extra-inning rules implemented last year.
In the bottom of the 10th, Cole Stobbe walked to put two on, but Ben Pelletier grounded into a double play before Dayeison Arias came on and got Yerwin Trejo to ground out to the mound to end the game. Arias earned his fifth save.
Ben Onyshko (3-0) threw 2.2 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win.
BlueClaws starter Victor Santos threw five perfect innings, striking out five, before coming out. Santos has allowed just five runs in his last 23.2 innings pitched.
Nick Rodriguez singled with one out in the sixth off Francisco Morales for the first Power base-runner of the game. Morales, however, settled in nicely and threw four scoreless innings while striking out seven.
Power starter Devin Sweet gave up four hits over his six scoreless innings while striking out seven.
The teams continue their series on Saturday night at 7:05 pm. RHP James McArthur (0-4) starts for Lakewood opposite LHP Steven Moyers (6-4).
