Christian Provides Muscle in Win

Trenton, NJ- A two homerun performance from Justin Christian combined with two key errors from Akron gave Trenton a 4-2 win on Wednesday night at Waterfront Park. The Thunder (80-57) received another strong outing from RHP Andrew Brackman and returned to 1 ½ game ahead in first place with five remaining in the season .

Brackman (4-7) fell into trouble in the top of the first inning as Jordan Henry led off with a single and stole second base. Two batters later, Lonnie Chisenhall connected on an RBI hit for a 1-0 Akron lead. In the bottom of the inning, Just Christian wasted no time extending his hit streak to 15 games, as he clubbed a solo home run off RHP Robert Bryson to tie the game.

The Thunder went ahead in the second inning as two defensive miscues from RHP Bryson and 1B Miguel Perez led to an unearned Thunder run. In the fifth inning Christian launched his second home run of the game over the left field wall pushing the Thunder ahead 3-1.

Brackman (4-7) earned the win as he allowed just two runs on five hits and struck out four hitters in six innings of work. Wilkin de la Rosa and J.B. Cox finished the final three innings to preserve the win for Brackman.

The Thunder and Aeros conclude their four game on Thursday night at 7:05 PM. LHP Manuel Banuelos will make the start for the Thunder, while Akron counters with LHP Matt Parker. Tickets are available by contacting the box office at 609-394-3300 or online at www.trentonthunder.com .
