TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Erie SeaWolves will meet in game three of a four-game series...For the second straight game, the SeaWolves led from start to finish as they again defeated the Flying Squirrels 4-2 in game two of the series on Tuesday night at Jerry Uht Park.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Right-hander Felix Romero gets the start in game three of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Suffered the loss in his last outing at Altoona 8/27...Allowed three runs on five hits in four innings...Struck out one batter and walked three...All five hits allowed went for extra bases including three doubles and two triples...Recorded seven fly outs and three ground outs...Threw 74 pitches, 50 strikes...Was on a hard 80-pitch limit...Threw 31 pitches in the second inning...Threw five pitches or more to seven of the 20 batters he faced...Has allowed one run or less in six of his 12 starts...Six of his 12 starts have been quality starts...Has gone six innings or more in seven of his 12 starts...Is 4-3 with a 3.09 ERA (23 er/67.0 ip) in 12 starts with Richmond...Is 2-1 with a 2.74 ERA in 12 games, six starts, at The Diamond...Is 2-2 with a 4.58 ERA in 12 games, six starts, on the road...Has allowed three runs, two earned, on seven hits in 8 2/3 innings (2.08 ERA)against Erie striking out six batters and walking two.

SQUIRREL TO THE SHOW: Outfielder Darren Ford today became the first Richmond Flying Squirrel to be called up the the Major Leagues as he was activated from the Disabled List (knee) and recalled by the San Francisco Giants...The 24-year-old appeared in 114 games with the Flying Squirrels and hit .251 (116-for-463) with five home runs and 40 RBI...He led the Eastern League with nine triples and was, second in league with 37 stolen bases.

THE DOG DAYS: The Flying Squirrels finished the month of August with a losing record, the second losing month this season...The club went 11-16 this past month...Richmond went 10-18 in June...The Flying Squirrels' 4.36 staff ERA was the highest of any month this season and the club's .253 team batting average was third-lowest of any month...Richmond was 7-5 through its first 12 games in August; however, the club went gone 4-11 over its last 15 games since scoring five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning in a 5-4, walk-off win over Portland 8/15.

THE INSIDE SCHOOP: Utility man Sharlon Schoop hit .330 (30-for-91) with six doubles, a home run, 15 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 22 games in August...The 23-year-old has raised his batting average with Richmond from .232 to .288 over that stretch...Schoop matched a career-high in hits and set a career-high in RBI after going 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, 6 RBI and two runs scored at Portland 8/8...It was one of three games he drove in three runs or more (8/8, 8/17, 8/23) during the month...He had three three-plus RBI games in 105 contests last season with Double-A Connecticut.

Z-PACK: Catcher Eliezer Zambrano has hits in each of his last four games dating back to his last game with Low-A Augusta 8/15...The 23-year-old is one game shy of matching the longest hit streak of his career since making his domestic debut in 2007...He is 5-for-14 (.357) over that stretch with two doubles, and two runs scored...Zambrano had a five-game hit streak with Arizona Rookie League Giants 8/13/07-8/27/07.

THOMAS THE TRAIN: Outfielder Thomas Neal is third in the Eastern League in doubles (39), is fourth in hits (149), and is fourth in total bases (226)...He leads the team with 42 multi-hit games and is two doubles away from matching his career-high of 41 set last season with Advanced-A San Jose...Ten of his 12 home runs have been hit on the road...Since 6/1, Neal is batting .313 (97-for-313) in 82 games with 28 doubles, nine home runs, 43 RBI, and 50 runs scored...He has raised his batting average from .255 to .290 over that span.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 163 double plays in 135 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The Flying Squirrels have not gone more than three games without a double play this season...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned...Erie is second in the league with 159 double plays turned in 136 games...Ironically, the SeaWolves are also last in the league in fielding percentage (.972) having committed a league-leading 144 errors.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: Erie first baseman Billy Nowlin became the sixth opposing player to homer twice in a game against Richmond after hitting a pair of home runs off of right-hander Craig Westcott last night...Hector Gimenez and Shelby Ford of Altoona, Joel Guzman and Joe Mahoney of Bowie, and Erie's Andy Bouchie are the other five batters to homer twice in a game against the Flying Squirrels...Three Flying Squirrels have homered multiple times in a game including Thomas Neal (twice), Roger Kieschnick, and Clay Timpner.
