E.L. Broadcaster of the Year to Join Curve for Playoffs

CURVE, Pa. - The 2009 Eastern League Broadcaster of the Year, Mike Antonellis, will join the Altoona Curve for the 2010 playoffs, the club announced today. Antonellis will be paired with current Curve broadcaster Mike Passanisi to describe all of the action of the franchise's first playoff games since 2006.
The 37-year old Antonellis is in his fifth season as the lead play-by-play broadcaster for the Portland Sea Dogs and 14th season in baseball. Prior to joining Portland, the Massachusetts native called the action for the Erie SeaWolves (2004), Kane County Cougars (2002-03), Syracuse Skychiefs/Utica Blue Sox (2001), and the Prince William Cannons (1997-2000).
At the end of last season, the league's broadcasters and media relations directors voted Antonellis the Broadcaster of the Year. He also received second place in the balloting's "Best Voice" category.
Antonellis will complete the regular season in Portland as the Sea Dogs have a week-long homestand at Hadlock Field. Passanisi will continue to broadcast all of the Curve action during the club's four-game series in Bowie and the Labor Day weekend home series against Reading. The tandem will get together on Wednesday, September 8 when the Curve begin play in the best-of-five Western Division playoff series.

"I've known Mike since he was in Erie and have always been impressed with the quality of his broadcasts. He and Mike Passanisi will be a terrific team to bring home all of the playoff excitement to our fans."
