Chihuahuas Snap Skid with 9-5 Win over Sacramento

The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Sacramento River Cats 9-5 Saturday night to end their three-game losing streak. El Paso starter Brett Kennedy moved his record to 9-0 after allowing only one run in seven innings, which tied his season high for longest start. Kennedy has let up only three runs in his last 23.1 innings.

Brett Nicholas went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs. Nicholas now has 68 RBIs, good for third-most in the Pacific Coast League. Matt Szczur went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and has five hits in the first three games of the series versus Sacramento.

San Diego Padres pitcher Jose Castillo didn't allow any earned runs in a one-inning MLB rehab relief appearance. San Francisco Giants infielder Evan Longoria went 0-for-4 in his second MLB rehab game for Sacramento.
