TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (51-48) took a 6-0 shutout loss to the Salt Lake Bees (52-47) on Friday night at Cheney Stadium.

First baseman Seth Mejias-Brean led the Rainiers on offense, going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles for the club's only multi-hit performance. Left fielder Ian Miller (1x4), center fielder Andrew Aplin (1x3), and designated hitter Cameron Perkins (1x4) also collected singles.

Erasmo Ramirez - on Major League rehab assignment from Seattle - got the start for the Rainiers and tossed two scoreless, hitless innings with three strikeouts. He threw 23 pitches, 19 of which went for strikes.

Tyler Jackson (1.2 IP), Daniel Schlereth (2.0 IP), Ryan Garton (1.1 IP), Ryan Cook (1.0 IP), and Tucker Healy (1.0 IP) all chipped in from the Tacoma bullpen to cover the remainder of the game. Garton and Healy both worked scoreless outings.

The Rainiers and Bees continue their series on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. PT. Tacoma will start right-hander Rob Whalen (7-4, 4.67), while Salt Lake has not yet named a starting pitcher.
