Peoria Chiefs News Release
PEORIA, IL - With the magic number for a playoff spot at two and the possibility of clinching on the field tonight, the Peoria Chiefs have announced that 2009 playoff tickets are now on sale. The Chiefs could potentially host six post-season games with the first home playoff date scheduled for Wednesday, September 9. Each post-season home game played will start at 6:30 PM unless the Chiefs host on a Sunday, in which case first pitch will be slated for 2:00 PM. Gates will open one hour prior to start time.
The Chiefs host Quad Cities tonight at 6:30. With a win and a loss by the Clinton LumberKings, the Chiefs would wrap up their first playoff spot since 2006. Peoria can also clinch even without a win if Clinton is swept in a doubleheader tonight against Cedar Rapids. The Chiefs magic number to clinch the Western Division is five. Gates for tonight's game between the Chiefs and Bandits will open at 5:30. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the O'Brien Field Ticket Office at 680-4008 or by visiting www.peoriachiefs.com
Fans can purchase playoff tickets for the same cost as the regular season prices. Club Box tickets are $10, Box tickets are $9 and Lawn/General Admission tickets can be obtained for $6. Also, none of the regularly scheduled weekly home promotions (e.g. Free hot dogs and peanuts on Wednesdays, Kids eat free on Sundays) will be in effect.
Group tickets are also available for each post-season game. Groups of 10 or more interested in seating bowl tickets, can get their tickets for a discounted rate, as well as all the regular Chiefs group benefits. For each individual playoff game, fans can rent one of four available suites (Grace, Maddux, Lippmann's and #4) for $265, which includes 10 tickets and an all-you-can-eat buffet. Additional tickets can be purchased for $26.50 each.
Both suite level party decks are also available for each playoff game. With a minimum of 30 tickets purchased, groups can take in the game from the Friendly Confines or Stadium Club for a cost of $10 per ticket plus a food order requirement. All three concourse party areas are available for rental as well. The Batters Box, Hot Corner Club and Wrigleyville party areas can be reserved for $28 per ticket, which includes an all-you-can-eat buffet. Ticket purchase minimums are 10, 15 and 15 respectively. The Left Field Landing and Pepsi Picnic Plaza in right field are available to rent for a minimum of 50 tickets purchased at a cost of $6 per ticket plus a food order requirement. All 2009 season ticket holders can lock in their season seat location by purchasing a six-game post-season package. Club Box seat packages are $60 and Box seat packages are $54. If all six post-season games are not played, each ticket holder will receive a credit for the equivalent amount towards their 2010 season tickets.
