Checkers Dave Inman Snatches Another ECHL Award - State Recalled

(PRINCETON, N.J. Thursday, January 9)- Charlotte center / left wing David Inman, Mississippi defenseman Jim Baxter and Peoria left wing Randy Rowe are the C&T Hockey Products ECHL Plus Performers of the Month for December. Inman, Baxter and Rowe were all +13 in December.

Named to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game, Inman was plus or even in each of the eight games that he played while helping the Checkers go 6-2-0, including an ECHL season-high six-game road winning streak. Currently on call up to Lowell of the American Hockey League, Inman led Charlotte with 14 points (4g-10a) and had a game-winning goal and a team-high two shorthand goals in December. Selected in the second round (59th overall) by the New York Rangers in the 1999 National Hockey League Draft, Inman leads the Checkers with a +14 plus-minus rating, three shorthand goals, 20 assists, six power-play assists and eight power-play points (2g-6a) and is tied for the team lead with two power-play goals while ranking second in scoring with 27 points (7g-20a) in 24 games.

"A good plus / minus is a strong indication of a solid two-way player, remarked Checkers Head Coach & General Manager Don MacAdam. "Dave's success in that area was one of the reasons he earned a promotion to the American Hockey League."

JEFF STATE RECALLED BY HARTFORD: The Hartford Wolf Pack has recalled defenseman Jeff State today from the Checkers. The announcement is made today by Checkers Head Coach & General Manager Don MacAdam. State has appeared in 24 games for Charlotte so far this season, earning five assists for five points and 24 penalty minutes. This will be State's first stint with the Wolf Pack this season, after playing in 39 games for Hartford last season.

Don't miss this year's Race Night with the Charlotte Checkers. This Saturday fans will have the opportunity to meet and receive autographs from Casey Mears with the #41 car as well as Shawna Robinson, Jay Godley, Shaun Mangum and Jeff Fultz. The Checkers will also be wearing special Race Jerseys during the game. The Checkers players will be wearing numbers that correspond with many popular NASCAR drivers. One Checkers player will be wearing #2 for Rusty Wallace, #21 for Ricky Rudd, #7 for Jimmy Spencer and many more. Fans will have an opportunity to bid on the special Race Jerseys directly following this Saturday's game. Also, the Checkers player who wore the jersey AND the NASCAR driver whose car number it represents will be signing the jersey for the winning bidder. There will be many more fun activities planned for this night...Show Cars, on ice entertainment and more!

Due to possible infringement of NFL Properties, the Checkers will not be able to show the Carolina Panthers / St. Louis Rams game on the Cricket Arena Jumbotron as previously planned. The Cricket Arena gates will open at the normal time of 6:00 p.m. Saturday.

Individual game tickets for the 2003-04 season are priced at $7.00 for balcony seats, $10.00 for end mezzanine seats, $12.00 for side mezzanine seats, $15.00 for circle seats, and $20.00 for box seats.
