Charleston Dirty Birds News Release
(Charleston, WV) -- This Friday night, July 6, 2007, the West Virginia Power will unveil the second member of the inaugural Charleston Wall of Fame class. The induction will take place prior to the first pitch at approximately 6:45 pm.
Two weeks ago the Power inducted the first member to the Charleston Wall of Fame, Charleston's very own Assistant Mayor, Rod Blackstone, a.k.a. "The Toastman". Prior to the game Power General Manager Ryan Gates inducted Blackstone and thanked all the fans who voted for their Charleston Baseball Legends. Blackstone then took a few moments to thank those who voted for him, but more importantly those who made Charleston Baseball and Appalachian Power Park a reality.
For the remainder of the season, every Friday home game a new member of the inaugural Charleston Wall of Fame will be inducted. By the end of the season six people will have been inducted and a voting will take place this off-season for the 2008 inductees.
