Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club would like to congratulate its team nominees for the 2007 CFL Outstanding Player Awards. The award nominees were selected by the Toronto chapter of the Football Reporters of Canada.

Outstanding Player DE Jonathan Brown

Outstanding Defensive Player DE Jonathan Brown

Outstanding Canadian LB Kevin Eiben

Outstanding Offensive Lineman OG Taylor Robertson

Outstanding Rookie WR Obed Cétoute

Outstanding Special Teams Player KR/RB Dominique Dorsey

DE Jonathan Brown has been recognized in two categories as the Argos' Outstanding Player and Outstanding Defensive Player, both for the first time in his four year CFL career. He is on pace for another career season, and with two games left, he needs just two sacks to match his own personal career high (13). Brown is now third in the CFL in sacks with 11, and he has been overpowering on the Argos' D-line this season while providing immeasurable leadership in the locker room.

For the fourth season in a row, LB Kevin Eiben has been nominated as the team's Outstanding Canadian. He has been named the East Division's Outstanding Canadian in two of the past three seasons and there is no reason he shouldn't be the nominee again this year. He has been one of the best linebackers in the East and possibly the league through sixteen games. Eiben leads all Canadian defensive players in tackles (87) and already has six sacks. With two big weeks, he could surpass 100 tackles for the third time in four seasons.

OG Taylor Robertson is a new addition to the Argos' offensive line this season and has experienced a great year in the new system with new teammates. Despite employing a different starting quarterback for most of the first half of the season, Robertson's consistent play made him a standout on a veteran line. He has played every game this season and brought a competitive drive to Toronto's offence. This is the first time in his career that Taylor has been the team nominee for Outstanding Lineman.

WR Obed Cétoute is a non-import rookie receiver right out of Central Michigan who has made some eye-popping catches this season for Toronto. The Montreal native, whose family immigrated to Canada from Haiti before he was born, has started three games this season and dressed in 13. Cétoute has 18 catches for 280 yards, long of 46, and has collect three touchdowns. 'O' lit up highlight reels last week in Montreal when he made an unbelievable one-handed catch for a first down.

RB/KR Dominique Dorsey arrived in Toronto in late July and paid immediate dividends, returning a missed field goal 129-yards for a touchdown to tie the CFL record. In CFL Week 13 against Winnipeg, he scored the first kickoff return touchdown of the 2007 season (97-yards) which tied for the second longest kickoff return in team history. Finally, in week 15 he returned a punt 69 yards for a score. Dorsey is now first in the CFL in kickoff return average with a staggering 25.8 yds/return, and first in punt return average, among players with at least 20 returns, at 11.1 yds/return. He is also the only player this season with at least three kick return touchdowns. This is the first time Dorsey has been nominated as the team Outstanding Special Teams Player.
