(Calgary) -The Calgary Stampeder Football Club has once again teamed up with The Salvation Army for the Annual Coat Drive. This will be the fifth year of the program and one that has been built up over the past four seasons. All fans in attendance on Saturday, October 27th are asked to share some warmth by bringing a gently used jacket to the game to donate, to those in need.

"Since joining this initiative last season you truly get an understanding of how important programs such as this are for the Calgary community," said Stampeder spokesperson Jeremaine Copeland. "I challenge all Stampeder fans in attendance at Saturday's game to break the impressive numbers we were able to accomplish last season."

The coats will be given to men, women and children who stay at The Salvation Army Booth Center and the Centre of Hope, as well as other individuals who come to The Salvation Army in need of winter clothing. Any surplus coats will be distributed to other city shelters. Last year Stampeder fans donated 3,000 coats and $2,000 in cash bringing the four year total to 4,120 coats and $3,800 to those in need.

Salvation Army volunteers will be situated at each of the McMahon Stadium gates at 4:00 pm to collect the coats brought by fans to the 5:00 pm game. The Salvation Army will also have kettles available to accept cash donations to support its ongoing programs.
