Lions Smart and Wake earn Rogers CFL Player of the Week honours

(Vancouver) BC Lions running back Ian Smart and defensive lineman Cam Wake have each earned Rogers CFL Player of the Week honours.

Smart picked up the Rogers CFL Special Teams Player of the Week award for Week 17 after a 111-yard, seven punt return performance including a dazzling 81-yard TD return in the Lions' 36-27 defeat of the Edmonton Eskimos last Saturday night. The second-year speedster also added 57 yards on three kickoff returns.This is Smart's third Special Teams nod in 2007 and comes on the heels of his nomination as the team's Outstanding Special Teams Player.

The Lions' nominee as Outstanding Defensive Player and Outstanding Rookie, Cam Wake picked up Defensive Player of the Week kudos with a two-sack, eight defensive tackle effort last week. This is Wake's second award on the season.
