Center Dan Fritsche Recalled By Columbus

Syracuse, NY (March 11, 2006) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled center Dan Fritsche.

Fritsche, 20, began the season with the Blue Jackets and registered 3 goals and 5 assists and 18 penalty minutes in 45 games. Fritsche has tallied 2 goals, 3 assists with 10 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Crunch this season.

A second round selection, 46th overall, by the Blue Jackets at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Fritsche has recorded 4 goals and 5 assists in 64 career NHL games. A native of Parma, Ohio, he represented Team USA at the 2004 and 2005 World Junior Championships, winning a gold medal in 2004 and scoring 5 goals and 6 assists in 13 games during the two tournaments. In 2004-05, he helped the London Knights capture the Memorial Cup championship.
