HAMILTON, ONTARIO - The Hamilton Bulldogs poured 46 shots on the Phantoms on Saturday night, the second most of any team this season, while Jaroslav Halak slammed the door on 25 Phantoms shots at the other end in a 5-0 Hamilton win at Copps Coliseum.

Hamilton roared out of the gate with 21 first-period chances on Phantoms starter Martin Houle, scoring three goals. Things started at the 11:00 mark when Brad Winchester centered a puck for Andrei Kostitsyn, who launched a full-force blast from about three feet that beat Houle. Then the Bulldogs added two goals within 19 seconds of each other - one from J.J. Hunter at 14:26 and a second from Winchester at 14:47.

Jamie Storr took over in net for the second period and allowed two goals the rest of the way. Winchester scored his second of the game at 9:19 of the second period, and Pierre Dagenais finished the scoring at 6:42 of the third period.

Halak, who playing in just his seventh career AHL game, recorded his fifth win and third shutout of that period. It was the ninth time the Phantoms have been shut out this season, which establishes a new franchise record. All nine shutouts have come on the road, which is also a new franchise mark.
