Celebrity HR Derby Hits Dodd Stadium

NORWICH, CT- Everyone loves the long ball so why not start the night of festivities off with a bunch. The Connecticut Defenders will host the Inaugural Stanton Equipment Celebrity Homerun Derby this Friday, July 25th at Dodd Stadium.

Eleven local sports celebrities will gather at Dodd Stadium, home of the Defenders and take their turn at attempting to get one over the wall. The Defenders have corralled an exceptional talent pool that spans from local newspaper reporters, radio hosts, TV personalities, and even some true professionals. Scheduled to appear are the following: Norwich Mayor Ben Lathrop, NBC 30's Sports Director Kevin Nathan, Weekend Anchor from Channel 3- John Pierson, UCONN Head Football Coach- Randy Edsall, Morning Show Host on 104.7 WXLM and former Minor League Player-Lee Elci, Norwich Bulletin Sports Reporter- Joe Perez, Former Red Sox Pitcher- Bob Stanley, FOX61 Morning Show Talent- Logan Byrnes, FOX61 News Reporter-Jim Altman, Channel 3 Sports Director- Joe Zone, 106.5 WBMW Representative- Tim Burrows and if you're the sponsor of the event you deserve to get hacks as well, the owner of Stanton Equipment- Scott Stanton.

The Stanton Equipment Celebrity Homerun Derby will take place prior to the Defenders taking on the New Britain Rock Cats. Make sure to show up early and root for you favorite local sports personality.
