Aeros Playoff Tickets on Sale Friday - Team Looks for 4th Straight Southern Division Pennant
July 23, 2008 - Eastern League (EL1)
Akron RubberDucks News Release
AKRON, OH - Tickets for any and all Eastern League post-season games at Canal Park will go on sale Friday morning at 10 a.m., the Aeros announced today. Akron, which currently leads the Southern Division by 4.5 games over Bowie, has qualified for the playoffs in three straight years and four of the past five.
Both the divisional series and the championship series are best-of-five format. The price of playoff tickets will not go up compared to regular-season games, with reserved seats still $10 for adults and $8 for juniors (12 and under) and seniors (60 and over). Bleacher seats will remain at $9 for adults and $7 for juniors and seniors.
If the Aeros hold on to their lead and win the Southern Division regular-season crown, divisional round playoff games at Canal Park would be tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 3rd, Thursday, September 4th, and Sunday, September 7th (if necessary). All games would start at 7:05 p.m.
If the Aeros finish in second place in the Southern Division, divisional round games in Akron would be tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th (if necessary). Both games would start at 7:05 p.m.
Now, should faith and Providence combine and the Aeros find themselves immersed in the intoxicating brew known as the Eastern League Championship Series, Akron would host the first two games of the series here at Canal Park. Game one of the series would be tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 9th, and game two would be tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th. Again, both games would begin at 7:05 p.m.
Playoff tickets are available through myriad different means: in-person at Infield Outfitters (our official team shop located at Canal Park), by telephone at 330-253-5153 or toll-free at 1-800-97-AEROS, or online at www.akronaeros.com. Infield Outfitters is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, with extended hours on game days.
The first-place Aeros are currently on the road, and will play the Altoona Curve at 7:05 p.m. this evening. Steven Wright (1-1, 6.00 ERA) will pitch for Akron against Altoona's Derek Hankins (1-6, 4.26 ERA). The game broadcast begins at 6:50 p.m. on SportsRadio 1350 AM and online at www.akronaeros.com. For more information, please call the Aeros at (330) 253-5151.
